An eight-court indoor pickleball centre is slated to open in Brookvale in early 2027, bringing a dedicated venue for the sport to Sydney’s Northern Beaches.
The Picklr Manly Warringah will operate at Unit W11, 122–126 Old Pittwater Road under a development application (DA2026/0684) proposing a $907,500 conversion of the commercial tenancy. Planned features include climate control, sound baffling, specialized playing surfaces, a pro shop, amenities, and ancillary office space.
Located near Warringah Mall and east of Allambie Heights, the Old Pittwater Road site sits within an established commercial precinct already heavily used by surrounding communities.

Dedicated facilities to ease pressure on local venues
Organised pickleball across the region has expanded significantly since the Northern Beaches Pickleball Association formed in late 2019. Pickleball Australia records show the association grew to about 200 members by late 2022 across initial sites in Dee Why and Avalon.
As local membership surged past 2,000, players faced ongoing venue shortages. Community groups have routinely competed with other sports for indoor bookings at Beacon Hill and Curl Curl, often relying on portable nets and adapted outdoor courts. Purpose-built indoor facilities will provide local players with dedicated, year-round access.

Local sporting family leads new venture
Former national junior tennis titleholder and professional pickleball competitor Lara Giltinan will manage the Brookvale facility in her role as general manager of The Picklr Australia and New Zealand.
Giltinan holds deep ties to the Northern Beaches sporting community. Her father, former Australian Davis Cup player Bob Giltinan, operated the Giltinan Tennis and Squash Centre at North Manly for many years. Local professional pickleball player Mitch Hargreaves is also expected to use the Brookvale centre as a training base.
Expansion follows Caringbah launch
Brookvale marks the company’s second Sydney location following the launch of an 11-court centre in Caringbah in August 2026. That site drew more than 1,700 pre-registrations and attracted over 900 people to its official opening.
Registrations of interest are open for the Brookvale centre ahead of its planned early-2027 launch, with founding membership details expected closer to opening.
